And Japheth Shall Dwell
in the Tents of Shem

This sermon is the 49th in a series on the book of Genesis from Pastor Dewell. The message unfolds the prophecy of Noah over his sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth, especially the LORD's blessing for Shem and Japheth. God would enlarge Japheth and cause him to dwell in the tents of Shem, while Canaan will serve them both. The central message emphasizes God's redemptive plan for humanity: The Messiah will come through the line of Shem, while Japheth—representing the line of the Gentiles—is promised divine enlargement and worldly success. Japheth's greater blessing, however, will be spiritual, as found in the 'tents of Shem,' symbolizing, first, the presence of God through the tabernacle, and then ultimately Christ's incarnation, as He tabernacled among us for a season. And as the church lengthens its cords, and strengthens its tent pegs, it will include all nations through faith in Christ according to God's redemptive plan which is revealed from Genesis, through the New Testament. And this divine plan will culminate in the future restoration of Israel through the gospel of Christ. The sermon's tone is pastoral and instructive, urging believers, especially Gentile Christians, not to be ashamed of the Jewish roots of their faith, where the book of the Psalms is affirmed in its rightful place as the book of praise for all believers.

The Curse of Canaan

This sermon is the 48th in a series on the book of Genesis from Pastor Dewell. The sermon explores the prophetic curse on Canaan pronounced by Noah after the flood. However, the curse was not a rash, personal judgment, but a divine prophecy rooted in the moral failure of Ham, and possibly Canaan, for mocking Noah's nakedness after he got drunk in his tent. In stark contrast, Shem and Japheth responded with godliness and reverence by carefully averting their gaze from their father as they covered his nakedness. The sermon emphasizes the sacredness of the human body, as reflecting, in part, the image of God, and that nudity is not merely physical, but carries deep moral and spiritual significance, calling for a deeper reverence for the dignity of the human body. Drawing from Scripture, including Leviticus, Exodus, and the New Testament, the sermon warns against modern cultural relativism that trivializes modesty. Ultimately, the message calls us to examine our own heart for a critical, judgmental spirit, that mirrors Ham and Canaan, by taking delight in ridiculing others' failures, rather than the example of Shem and Japheth whose love covered a multitude of sins.

Behold, I Establish My Covenant

This sermon is the 47th in a series on the book of Genesis from Pastor Dewell. The sermon centers on God's covenant with Noah after the flood, emphasizing its significance as a divine promise of mercy and faithfulness, sealed by the rainbow as a visible sign of His gracious assurance that God would never again destroy all life by a worldwide flood. The passage reveals the covenant as a unilateral act of grace, not a mutual agreement, emphasizing God's sovereign mercy toward humanity and all of creation, even in the face of persistent sin. Ultimately, the covenant with Noah affirms that God's promises are not dependent on human understanding or consent, but on His own faithful character, which extends to all generations, including the infants and children of believers through the sacrament of baptism. The sermon draws connections between this covenant and broader biblical themes—particularly the covenant of grace through Christ—highlighting how the rainbow foreshadows Christ's redemptive work, as seen in Ezekiel and Revelation, where divine glory is marked by the same celestial sign. The rainbow is interpreted not merely as a natural phenomenon, but as a divine symbol of God's peace, a bow laid aside in mercy, underscoring God's grace and the assurance that His mercy even surpasses His righteous judgment.

Its Life, Its Blood

This sermon is the 46th in a series on the book of Genesis from Pastor Dewell. This sermon explores the profound significance of blood, asserting that life resides within it and highlighting its central role in atonement. Drawing from Genesis and Leviticus, the message emphasizes the prohibition against consuming meat with its life, connecting this to the sanctity of human life and the importance of respecting God's creation. It also underscores the concept of blood as an instrument of redemption, drawing parallels to the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ as the sweet-smelling aroma that satisfies divine justice, and provides salvation through faith.

The Olive Leaf: Hope for Peace and New Life

This sermon is the 45th in a series on the book of Genesis from Pastor Dewell. The sermon explores the symbolism of the dove and olive leaf in the aftermath of the flood, moving beyond a simple understanding of peace to reveal deeper theological significance. It emphasizes the historicity of the flood and the importance of interpreting scripture according to its literary genre, cautioning against allegorical readings of a historical passage. Ultimately, the message highlights the dove with her olive leaf as a representation of both the resurrection of the earth and the satisfaction of God's justice through the flood, drawing parallels to the atoning work of Jesus Christ and underscoring the necessity of faith in him for salvation from sin and God's wrath.

Then God Remembered Noah

This sermon is the 44th in a series on the book of Genesis from Pastor Dewell. The sermon explores the anthropomorphic phrase, "God remembered Noah," within the context of the flood narrative, arguing that it doesn't literally mean that God forgets or remembers. Rather, God's remembrance signifies a return of His favor and deliverance, especially to those experiencing times of distress and uncertainty. It is also a reminder to us of His enduring care for humanity and creation. Finally, the message draws parallels between the days of Noah, and the return of the Son of Man, urging listeners to place their faith in Christ as their only ark of safety.

The Waters Increased
 And Lifted Up The Ark

This sermon is the 43rd in a series on the book of Genesis from Pastor Dewell. The sermon explores the paradoxical nature of God's judgment and mercy, exemplified by the story of Noah's flood, where destruction and salvation coexist. Drawing from Genesis 7 and 1 Peter 3, the message connects the floodwaters to the sacrament of baptism, emphasizing that while baptism does not regenerate or save through the water itself, it symbolizes the washing away of sins and union with Christ, mirroring how the ark was lifted above the floodwaters. Ultimately, the sermon highlights God's sovereignty in both adversity and blessing, asserting that even amidst trials, His providence works for the good of those who love Him, preserving hope and fulfilling His promises, much like the flood preserved Noah and the potential for the Messiah.

This sermon is the 42nd in a series on the book of Genesis from Pastor Dewell. The sermon explores the narrative of Noah and the flood, emphasizing God's sovereignty and deliberate action in bringing judgment upon a wicked generation. Drawing from Genesis chapter 7, the message highlights the significance of obedience, as demonstrated by Noah's faithful construction of the ark and entry with his family and the animals, and underscores the finality of God's judgment when He shut the ark's door. The speaker connects the story to the importance of personal faith and repentance, warning listeners to seek refuge in Christ before the opportunity for salvation is lost, while also noting the literary techniques of parallelism and repetition within the biblical text to emphasize key themes of divine power and the preservation of the faithful.

Testimony of Former Catholic Priest Richard Bennett UPDATED VIDEO

Hear the trials and tribulations of a Roman Catholic Priest in his struggle to truly know he was going to heaven when he died and have a relationship with Jesus Christ. This 13 year struggle of Richard to know God in a real biblical way crosses 2 oceans, 2 continents and even 2 hemispheres. Watch what powerful and wonderful things God did to save him from his sins and give him real peace and love instead of his own empty works. This update includes the latest news of the miracles God has performed in his life since the last time he shared his testimony with us. It is a heartwarming and powerful account of what God can do for you if you will only listen to God. If you are seeking answers from God or seeking to know God and have the confidence that the moment you die you can be with Christ and not in some hell or punishment area, this is a must-see video for you. Let Richard share his story and the Words of God with you. From Lourdes to China, from the Vatican in Rome to Washington state, Richard's journey has been long but the gift is great.

Who Is The Holy Father?

A lie repeated a thousand times does not become true by the telling. So it is that the Vatican, which is constantly restating the lie, that there were 266 Holy Popes from St Peter to Pope Francis, does not make it true. However, Pope Francis on the world stage depicts historical lies as if they were facts. This video that former Roman Catholic priest Richard Bennett and Pastor W. J. Mencarow have produced refutes the Pope’s claim. The video especially identifies the context of the republished lies in relation to the current world political situation. The video is presented with the sincere hope that by careful consideration and reference to the Scriptures, you will reject the false claims of the Papacy and take a committed personal stand for the Gospel of Jesus Christ the Lord. Because this is an astonishing video, we request that you forward it to your family and friends.

Catholic Political Coercion Through Civil Law

Political coercion is what the Roman Catholic Church thrived on for many years throughout the Middle Ages. Although her methods have changed, her goals have never changed, as one can see in this video. Her ability to grow in strength and numbers was and still is in proportion to her legal agreements (concordats) with other nations throughout the world. This video with former Catholic priest Richard Bennett and Pastor (and former Catholic) W. J. Mencarow truly documents the Vatican’s diplomatic relations with 179 countries, enabling it to implement political coercion over many of these nations. Please make this video known by sending its URL to your family and friends and your church members. Thank you

Christian civilization began a few minutes before noon, Oct. 31, 1517. This sermon explains that. It also explains how we can obey Jesus' commandment in Matthew 5:48: "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect."

Remember The Sabbath Day - Keeping The Lord's Day Holy

The command to observe the Sabbath Day was given by the Lord long before the 10 Commandments. It, like marriage, was given to Adam and Eve and thus, like marriage, is called a "creation ordinance." The Sabbath gives us purpose and meaning to our work to fulfill the Dominion Covenant (Genesis 1:14-18). Every week we are reminded of the rest that awaits us in everlasting life.

The Sermon That Could Send Me To Jail

Sermon excerpts: Homosexuality is the practice of death, because it results in the death of the human race. Prov. 8:36: “But he that sinneth against me, hurteth his own soul: and all that hate me, love death.” A society of homosexuals lasts one generation and is extinct. That is why the homosexual lobby is so aggressive. They have to recruit converts in each generation. "Prohibiting discrimination" is a ruse. Their goal is for govt. schools, media, etc. to actively encourage homosexuality. The Hate Crimes Prevention Act, US law since 2009, lays the legal foundation to investigate and prosecute pastors and anyone else whose speech is based upon the truths found in the Bible. "If a homosexual merely claims he feared bodily injury by a Christian’s words, the Christian can be thrown in prison for a felony ‘hate crime.' Under the strictest definition of of the law, any preaching against any sin, especially that of homosexuality could be considered hate language and therefore a hate crime. If convicted, a person could spend as much as 10 years in prison." What is next? Will it be a crime to say what the Bible says about adultery, fornication, prostitution, etc. because some people are offended? Since I Cor. 1:18 teaches us that the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, it is offensive to them. How long will it be before sharing the Bible will be a hate crime? This is what Christians need to do...

Duck Dynasty's Phil Fired For Proclaiming God's Word

Phil Robertson, the patriarch of the Duck Dynasty TV series – the most popular nonfiction show in cable TV history – has been fired by the A&E network for stating what the Bible teaches about the sin of homosexuality. Homosexuality is one of the most public, aggressive and virulent forms of rebellion against God. Make no mistake: Christian, we are in a spiritual war. The enemy is well-aware of that fact and is doing all it can to remove God's Word from society – the goal is to outlaw it. This sermon has several recent examples. A society of homosexuals lasts one generation and then is extinct. That is undeniable. And that is why the homosexual lobby is so aggressive in pushing for societal acceptance and in their intolerance of those who believe it is sinful – to the point of outlawing criticism of homosexuality in many countries, and which is their goal in the US. They have to recruit converts to homosexuality in each generation, because they have no children to carry on their crusade. They must convert. What Phil Robertson has done should encourage every Bible-believer, and A&E's firing him should be a wake-up call. This isn't simply a disagreement over beliefs. Phil has drawn a line in the sand. He believes in God's Word. A&E has made it clear that they are on the side of the enemies of God's Word. The battle lines have been drawn. Christian, to do nothing is to capitulate. Are you as strong in your faith as Phil Robertson? What have you done recently to show it? See the link for Phil talking about spiritual warfare.

Marriage is Honorable!

This text on marriage from the Word of God, here in the book of Hebrews, is very practical to us. Come and listen as we address several questions like these: Is sex in marriage shameful? Is sex outside of marriage sinful? Can all sorts of people marry? Is marriage still honorable for people who are in college and are not settled yet in their careers? How about for people who do not have a mature character? Is it honorable for people to marry if they are not compatible with each other, and are not each other's soulmate? Is marriage a burden, a kind of bondage, or a necessary evil? "Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge."

The Junk DNA Myth Takes a Well-Deserved Hit: A Review of The Myth of Junk DNA

A review of "The Myth of Junk DNA" by Jonathan Wells (Discovery Institute Press Seattle, WA, 2011). Reviewed by Jeffrey Tomkins (http://creation.com/review-wells-junk-dna). "One of the greatest evolutionary frauds of recent times is the myth that eukaryotic genomes, particularly the human genome, are largely composed of meaningless ‘junk’ DNA sequences that serve no biological purpose. While many of the actual researchers working in the vast field of genomics now realize that virtually the entire genome is functional,1 a handful of influential and popular bio-science authors still authoritatively proclaim the fraudulent myth of ‘junk DNA’. Thus, the errant junk DNA myth is still widely perpetuated even though several decades of hard-hitting research profoundly declares otherwise. "The problem is that the general public doesn’t often read the journal-based scientific literature, but instead rely on popular science authors to distill the pertinent research data into a more easily understood form. In this process, the truth about non-coding DNA is withheld and distorted by the popular media technical outlets. Unfortunately, the scientific technocracy of our time uses the junk DNA myth as a key component to perpetuate the overall myth of Darwinian evolution. A new book by molecular biologist and author Dr Jonathan Wells utterly and thoroughly destroys the cherished junk DNA paradigm. It is appropriately titled 'The Myth of Junk DNA.'"

Old Earth Or Young Earth - Which Belief Is The Recent Aberration? by Don Batten

This is a reading of an article by Don Batten at http://creation.com/old-earth-or-young-earth-belief and is read and posted here by permission of Creation Ministries International. Many today, even Christians, accept the age of the earth at billions of years and claim that the ‘young-earth’ view is a recent invention of Protestant ‘fundamentalist’ churches. They claim that various Church Fathers or other ancient authorities wrote things that suggested they did not hold a ‘young-earth’ view. However, such claims about the Church Fathers and Reformers have been shown to be wrong; for instance, in the rebuttal to the long-ager Hugh Ross, by Mark Van Bebber and Paul Taylor*. It’s vital to analyse what the scholars of the past actually said, instead of what people claim they said. * The book by Van Bebber and Taylor is "Creation and Time—a Report on the Progressive Creationist Book by Hugh Ross" (Eden Productions, Mesa, Arizona, USA, 1994).

Separating Christianity From Politics, by Dr. Michael Wagner

Published in the June 2013 issue of Reformed Perspective magazine (http://reformedperspective.ca/), pages 14-16. A critical review of "A Secular Faith: Why Christianity Favors the Separation of Church and State" by Darryl G. Hart, an elder in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. What does "the separation of church and state" mean? It is different from "the separation of religion and politics"? Should Christians bring their faith into government and politics? Dr. Wagner says, "The separation of church and state is a good thing, and it is Biblical because the Bible establishes both the church and the state as separate entities with different purposes and functions. "Separating religion from politics is a completely different matter. Religion is (generally speaking) a belief system whereas politics consists of activities associated with the government. Separation of religion and politics is impossible, because all political activity is based on ethical concepts that are rooted in religious ideas."

What does it mean that men are to love their wives as their own bodies? Does this marital counsel from the Word of God seem strange to us? And what about the next line of the text? “He that loveth his wife loveth himself?” What does that mean? How can you love yourself when you love your wife? Come and listen! Hear the exposition of these words of Scripture so you can know how to make sense of them. Also, consider several applications from this passage including those about self-esteem and suicide, an issue which is frequently raised in our day.

Calvin Said Genesis Means What it Says, God Created in Six Consecutive Normal Days

Some professing evangelical Christians accuse creationists of taking a naïve literalistic view of Genesis, and claim that creationism is a 20th century aberration. Nothing could be further from the truth. One of the most influential of the Reformers was the French lawyer and theologian John Calvin (1509–1564). Calvin believed: The earth is ‘young’; God created in six consecutive normal days; The day-night cycle was instituted from Day 1 — before the sun was created; The sun, moon and stars were created on Day 4 — after the earth — and took over the role as light dispensers to the earth... This authorized reading of an article by Dr. Jonathan Sarfati posted at www.creation.com (see the link on this page) gives convicing evidence, with citations, that Calvin indeed believed that God created the universe in 6 consecutive normal days.

The Lord's Richest Book: Things You Never Knew About The Psalms!

A reading of a letter by Athanasius, bishop of Alexandria (298? - 373 A.D.) on the Psalms. "To those who really study it the Psalter yields special treasure. It is like a picture, in which you see yourself portrayed, and seeing, may understand and consequently form yourself upon the pattern given. "Elsewhere in the Bible you read that the Law commands this or that to be done, you listen to the Prophets to learn about the Saviour's coming, or you turn to the historical books to learn the doings of the kings and holy men; but in the Psalter, besides all these things, you learn about yourself. You find depicted in it all the movements of your soul, all its changes, its ups and downs, its failures and recoveries. "Moreover, whatever your particular need or trouble, from this same book you can select a form of words to fit it, so that you do not merely hear and then pass on, but learn the way to remedy your ill. Prohibitions of evil-doing are plentiful in Scripture, but only the Psalter tells you HOW to obey these orders and abstain from sin. "(We) find in the Psalms a fit form of words wherewith to please the Lord on each of life's occasions. "Let each select from it, as from the fruits of a garden, those things of which he sees himself in need. In this book all human life is covered...For no matter what you seek, whether it be repentance and confession, or help in trouble and temptation or under persecution...are sad for any reason, or you want to praise and thank and bless the Lord, each of these things the Psalms show you how to do, and in every case the words you want are written down for you, and you can say them as your own."

The Tapestry of Matrimonial Headship

Our text says that in marriage the husband is the head of his wife, even as Christ is the head of the church. How wonderful it is that the husband's headship would be likened to the profundity of Christ's headship over the Church! Yet in no way does this make the nature of the wife inferior to the husband, nor give the husband license to be a tyrant over his wife. The headship of the husband is not intended to be played like a trump card to win an argument with his wife! Come and listen to how this passage of Scripture teaches us that the husband's headship should not be self-centered, but instead, it must be characterized by love, even as Christ loves his bride.

The Westminster Confession of Faith states that God is a most pure spirit without passions. In our day, however, this has become a controversial doctrine. Yet, we will argue that this teaching is Biblical. As you listen to this talk you may want to follow along with the outline: 1. Acts 4:15 2. James 5:17 3. An objection answered 4. Our body and our feelings 5. A precise definition 6. The immutability of God

Luther on Evolution; He Knew Darwin's Arguments

This is a reading of an article by Paul Bartz, by permission. Martin Luther scorned theistic evolution, which was known among the educated of his day. Luther’s words rejecting chance and mechanistically guided processes to explain man are as specific and clear as if he had read Darwin. In his comments on Genesis 1:6 he states, ‘Here we are taught about the beginning of man, that the first man did not come into existence by a process of generation as reason had deceived Aristotle and the philosophers into imagining.’ Luther stressed that the Word was God’s instrument of creation, the very same Word which became flesh to win our salvation. On this basis, for Luther, the teaching about the ‘how’ of creation is also part of the Scriptural revelation of Christ. He saw toying with creation as toying with Scripture’s revelation about Christ.
"For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous. "Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you. We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

In our text Jesus warns his disciples that a time will come when those killing God's servants will think that they kill as a service unto the Lord. We offer two examples in how the words of the Lord Jesus were, in part, fulfilled. Accounts of the devilish cruelty done against Christians can be chilling, but at the same time they show us the dauntless faithfulness of the saints to their, and our, covenant-keeping God.

¡Gracias!
Pope Francis Elected: The Mystery of Iniquity Continues

Pope Francis Elected: The Mystery of Iniquity Continues is written by Richard Bennett, former Roman Catholic priest (1956 - 1985). Visit his website for hours of free reading, videos and audios: www.BereanBeacon.org Narrated by Rodrigo Vasquez. As Pope Francis moves onto the world stage, many people are wondering how he will be generally accepted. The pleasant aura of John Paul II still lingers for many, while the shortcomings of Benedict XVI still color the current scene. More importantly, given the Pope's exalted position in the world, many will be asking how Pope Francis will change the Papacy. The fact remains, however, that since the early 19th century the Office of the Papacy has been set on a course of action that no individual pope will reverse. How can this be so? Constantine decreed Christianity the religion of the Roman Empire Setting the Stage for the Mystery of Iniquity In 330 A.D., Emperor Constantine moved the seat of the Imperial Roman Empire from Rome to Constantinople. By that time, he had decreed Christianity the religion of the Empire in hopes that by means of its acceptance a new unifying strength could be infused into his crumbling empire.
Who Is Antichrist?

For much more on "Who Is Antichrist?" see our sermonaudio.com series: http://tinyurl.com/revsermons 17 And the world passeth away , and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. 18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come , even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. 20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. 21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth. 22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. 23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

"He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked." What does this mean for you right now? How does it affect how you interact with people? Your family, people you work with, strangers you interact with at the store, etc.? May you be blessed by this sermon on what the Apostle John teaches on loving God vs. loving the world and the things that are in the world -- and how that is consistent with His command to bring all the world into subjection to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Did Christ Die For The Whole World?

"And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world." This verse puzzles some believers. Is it saying that Christ saves everyone? Or is it saying that Christ's death made it possible for everyone to be saved, but that you have to do something to become saved? Or is it saying something else entirely? Understanding this verse and I Jn. will keep us out of all sorts of dangerous heresies.
